Triple accreditation: A global impact on the quality of education

Achieving the accreditation of important agencies such as AACSB International, EQUIS of EFMD and AMBA Association of MBA, is a seal of quality and global excellence in managerial training.

These processes have a strong impact on business schools, their programs, their students, and the community.

Here we present the testimony of prestigious business schools from different parts of the world, which have achieved with great effort, commitment and responsibility the «Triple Crown».

“We are proud to be part of this distinguished group”: Dean Dr.Ruth Banomyong, Thammasat Business School

Dr. Ruth Banomyong

In 2019, Thammasat Business School became the first business school in Thailand to attain ‘triple-crown’ recognition from the world’s three leading accreditation bodies. For TBS, this excellence indicator represents an assurance that our curriculum is now world-class. It is also a commitment that the school will continually improve and innovate to maintain these globally-recognised standards.

The triple accreditation creates many academic opportunities for the school to:

1. Forge deeper links with top universities around the world through the signing of MOUs, providing increased and more meaningful exchange of students and professors

2. Build relationships with leading companies around the world, allowing us to offer exciting internships and work-placements in companies worldwide.

3. Enhance the quality of research collaboration with faculty from leading universities around the world, allowing us to raise the profile of our research, publication and conference activities

4. Ensure that both Thai and foreign students are able to study in a world-class university in Thailand.

Less than 1% of all business schools globally achieve the ‘triple-crown,’ and we’re proud to be a part of this distinguished group and we look forward to more exciting opportunities in the future.

“Show the hard work of our teams”: Isabelle Huault, Dean EMLYON Business School

“We are proud at emlyon business school to be a part of the 1% of business schools worldwide awarded with the triple accreditation. To be successfully accredited, the institutions require excellence in all parts of the program and school. As a result, being included in this prestigious group of worldwide business schools demonstrates the hard work of our teams to guarantee that our MBA programs meet the highest possible international standards. Be assured that we are deeply engaged to continue innovating our courses and programs in conjunction with global trends, with the intention of providing our students with the education they need to become the successful business leaders of tomorrow. “

“Elevate our global competitiveness”: Prof. Ed Snape, Dean HKBU School of Business

HKBU School of Business has been triple accredited since 2013. This sends a powerful message to our stakeholders that we are an internationally recognised business school, which elevates our global competitiveness.

Ed Snape

Many business schools look at accreditations when selecting partners for student exchange, overseas internships and joint programmes. Being a triple-accredited school is especially valuable, and many of our partners are also triple-accredited.  This will become even more important in future as we are looking to deepen our partnerships with selected schools.

Triple accreditation helps improve graduates’ employability, since many employers prefer candidates from business schools with international accreditations. This explains why the School’s graduates are highly employable in a wide range of business and professional fields.

The School sees a benefit in terms of student recruitment. The School’s research on international student choice clearly demonstrates that accreditations, along with the school’s reputation more generally, are very important when students are choosing a school.

In addition, the three accreditations allow us to benchmark against our peers on multiple dimensions, including faculty recruitment and development, programmes, research quality, internationalisation, CSR and corporate engagement. We believe that the accreditations add value in terms of the quality of the work we do.

“We teach business for a better world”: Percy Marquina, Dean CENTRUM PUCP Business School

CENTRUM PUCP Graduate Business School has recently turned 20 years old, being the only business school in Peru to hold the “Triple Crown” (AMBA, AACSB and EQUIS) and since this year it has had “Quadruple Recognition”; having been recognized by the Business Graduate Association (BGA) – AMBA’s associate institution – for the impact of CENTRUM PUCP on its environment.

Percy Marquina

Today, more than meeting criteria for minimum class hours or number of professors with doctorates, accreditations focus more on the impact of the institution with respect to its environment: students, alumni, business world, community, government, etc. Which perfectly matches the school’s purpose, “We teach business for a better world”.

Having and maintaining these accreditations is a job that we can summarize in two elements: «teamwork» and «continuous improvement». Accreditations allow us as an institution to coordinate all internal and external activities in order to achieve continuous improvement and compliance with the common and particular standards of each accreditor. The work that the school must carry out starts from having a clear and direct mission and vision about its essence and where it wants to go. Subsequently, the definition of objectives is vital for the inter-area work in order to achieve them. Accreditations have allowed CENTRUM PUCP demonstrate world class, likewise other business schools from around the world; we also provide the student with a global experience. Accreditations additionally are credentials that allow the school to forge mutually beneficial alliances at the course, program, faculty, student, research and development level.

AMBA, EQUIS and AASCB international accreditations recognise the academic excellence of EDHEC’s programmes, the quality of our teaching faculty, our close links with businesses, and the involvement of the School in our environment.

“Students (prospect, current, and alumni) have an assurance of a high quality and international recognition of their degrees”: Luiz Artur Brito, Dean FGV EAESP Fundacion Getulio Vargas

FGV EAESP achieved the triple accreditation in 2004. At that time less than 30 schools in the world had the triple crown. This allowed the school to build one of the best international networks in the world. The high standards set by the three accreditation bodies also guided the school to continue to develop and grow at the best international level. The accreditations bring benefits to all school’s stakeholders. Students (prospect, current, and alumni) have an assurance of a high quality and international recognition of their degrees. Some of the degrees, like the PhD, have an automatic recognition in several countries. Faculty and staff have exceptional opportunities for international exchange and for developing research and collaboration alliances. Faculty attraction is also enhanced. The accreditations also contribute decisively to create double degrees and exchange agreements with the top business schools in the world offering to Brazilian and South American students a complete international experience.
